I watched 3 different videos about a painting “Birth of Venus”. It is very famous and there are many theories and researches about the story behind it. However, some information in these videos were different from each other, from the name of one of the goddesses appearing in the masterpiece, to the name of the man who bought the painting. I know there are many questions about each and every older piece of art but only one speaker mentioned that it is unsure and there are some possibilities, the others said different things as if there was no doubt. I know that it is not very important but I felt a little misinformed.

to stand firmly on the ground
Figures in this painting don't stand firmly on the ground - they seem weightless, almost as if they were floating.

to tilt sb’s head
Some people claim that if you tilt your head while talking to somebody, it means you are interested or concerned about what they are saying.

secular
It is controversial if secular celebrations and religious holidays should be treated the same way by the government.

  1. RESEARCH is an uncountable word, i.e. no plural! So is INFORMATION.
Doubt is what often appears if we use more than one source of information. That's how you develop critical thinking - by comparing and assessing the reliability of the different sources.
